postgrad peeves

I have been working in overdrive today in my role as postgrad diplomat. Really the role is postgrad rep, and I'm sort of a liaison between the postgrads and the academic staff, and a bit of an ambassador for postgrad issues. Generally there's not too much to do, people don't have too many issues, but I've gone from meeting to meeting today. It's quite fun really, the role of a diplomat. I like the challenge of thinking about how I can still tell the truth, while framing the facts in a way that seems to meet the self-interest of whoever I'm talking to. This works best when I don't have an invested interest of my own, which has been the case today.
