twenty-one

One of my Lee and Me community table friends invited me to her 21st. I'll call her J2 for simplicity. I went to this 21st last night. I realised that these days I go to more 18ths than I do 21sts, and that means I potentially have a whole other wave of 21sts coming up in a few years. Something to look forward to...

Anyway, J2 has the most random collection of friends. She's one of these people who picks up friends at a cafe, at the beach, in the carpark. She's amazing. We all bonded over margaritas and Mexican food, and had easy ice-breaker conversations in the vein of "So how do you know J2?". Very few people had a simple "from uni" or "from work" answer. Most people had an entertaining tale as to how J2 stumbled into their life. It was a fun night that exceeded my expectations.
