On The Move

Next week I have an appointment to change my driver's license from a NSW one to a Victorian one. Apparently you only have a few months to get it done before the inter-state one "expires" or something. I'm fortunate that a friend of mine who recently also moved south of the border filled me in on that important piece of information.

I don't have to change my rego over until my current rego is due for renewal. However, thinking upon such things prompted me to start taking a closer look at Victorian license plates, the slogan in particular. The new ones are Victoria - The Place to Be. Seems like preaching to the converted (or the stuck). The slightly older ones say Victoria - On The Move. Edgy, with a nice transport pun. The old ones say Victoria - The Garden State. Now that just sounds daggy.

If I get to choose, I'm going to ask for On The Move. However if VicRoads are as pleasant to deal with as the RTA, I expect I'll want to get in and out as fast as possible.
