A very pleasant few days I've had! A few days with the 'rents was just about enough, but I did have a nice time and was well looked after. I think the amount of weight I put on when I go back home correlates with how well I've been looked after. And let's just say I'm feeling plump.
On Boxing Day night Louise and I reminisced on her balcony, watched the bats fly over, and ate almost an entire bucket of KFC. Yep, we're disgusting.
I came back to the Gong yesterday and spent the evening with Katie and Shelley. Shelley got Wii Mario Cart for Christmas and we played that for awhile. I have terrible visual-spatial skills which kept the other two entertained. I just can't see what's coming up ahead. I kept falling off the edge of the tracks and plummeting into boiling lava, or an icy cold lake, or some such nonsense, and consequently always coming 12th (last). Oh well. Katie and Shelley ate KFC for dinner, but I passed as I figured I'd already exceeded my KFC quota. It must be all the KFC ads during the cricket that are making everyone crave it. Not that I watch the cricket either. It just happens to be on in the background lots of places I go.
Today was my designated Home Alone day. I didn't watch the movie, but I stayed home, alone (kind of, Leila was home some of the day). I hired The Edukators and Leila and I watched that together. What a great movie! It's a mildly bizarre plot designed as an excuse to explore the leftover socialist psyche of young idealistic Berliners who didn't live through the divided Berlin. I got to the end of the movie and just wanted to start it from the beginning again, and watch the whole film in light of the ending.
Church was nice tonight, with lots of visitors returning to Wollongong for the Christmas period from their new homes elsewhere, and a new friend coming along as well. I've got a full house tonight consequently, and that makes me happy. Today has ended with a great feeling of contentment.
