maximum crazy

Browne Family Christmas Weekend looked like it was going to be a winner this year. It got to about midnight on the Saturday night, which marked the 12 hour point, and everyone was still in party mode, getting along famously and having a wonderful family time. We were going to party into the morning, fueled by the energy an issue-free day and night had given us all. We had Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and other such golden oldies, singing along in our trademark toneless Browne family voice. It was fun.

But it was nothing some gang violence and drugs couldn't fix. Finishing the weekend in a tense, angry and awkward manner has become as much of a tradition as the dress-ups, the big dinner, and the bbq breakfast. Though I think this year was a bit worse.
